Answering my own question, the official way to "repair" a Photos library is to launch Photos while holding down the Option and Command keys.
I just did this, and I am still unable to get any or all properties of the 'selection'.
My next attack on the problem was to look at the Photos web app on my iCloud website. With the Moments tab selected, it says down at the bottom that I have 19001 photos and videos. That number is a little too low. Immediately under that it says Updating... with a progress indicator that keeps spinning and spinning and spinning.
Every once in a while I get an error dialog telling me that "Photos has stopped responding." I send info to Apple, then I quit Safari and go back to the website and experience the same thing again.
If I switch to the Albums tab, I find lots of errors, such as empty albums that should have lots of photos in them. |
