User-identifiers (which are treated case-insensitively) aren't used to look up libraries, if that was what you (or Shane) were suggesting. When looking up a library by name it uses a string to find a matching file name. Whether that's case-sensitive depends on the file system; for 99% of Mac users it's case-insensitive.
I haven't tried it, but I *think* that if you have a case-sensitive file system you will be able to successfully reference libraries whose names only vary in case. Obviously, I wouldn't encourage users to name libraries like that.
