In an ideal world, Image Events would mean you can avoid it here. But AS is not part of that world; be thankful there's an alternative.

So you're probably going to walk folder hierarchies, which means relying on the Finder is probably even less of a good idea.

IMO, that's industrial-level scripting, for which you need to be prepared to step outside your comfort zone. It's also a good excuse to try something different.
