G’day Deivy
Whatever I use it’s got to be scriptable. As I said, I’ve discovered using lp settings in Cups makes it trivial to select the default printer, but Cocoa is a bag full of hurt when it come to the Cocoa printer interface that’s used by every printing App. With GraphicConverter, it simply freezes, and there’s nothing Thorsten (GC author) can do about it. The Cocoa balls in Apples court. That’s why I’ve lodged several bug reports.
Regards
Santa
set defaultPrinter to do shell script ("lpoptions -d " & printerName)

Can’t you use System Preferences to select the default printer?
In short, no, not scriptable
