I am puzzled by the original message which stated : " but suspect the privileges of the Applications folder on the new Yosemite install are not set correctly."


I made no change to the folder attributes and the Brian shell script returns "40775".
I get this result on my Mavericks system, on my Yosemite one and also on the El Capitan one.

So from my point of view this is the correct setting. It's the value that Brian assumes to be the correct one which is not.
