You can also script "Things." I have a little script that runs every day to set up a few things I like to check off every day. Works great.

OmniFocus is also scriptable, at least in the version I have (1.10.6). I just Things is a better fit for me. By the time I get all organized in OmniFocus it's time for lunch.
