Figured it out. And of course it was a stupid error. I finally began testing to make sure the chosen file and the target folder existed. The target folder didn’t exist. It turns out the user had a personal Dropbox folder set up on her machine in addition to the company Dropbox folder. And of course the Dropbox folder I needed to get into was named “Dropbox (Comtech)”. Adding (Comtech) to the path for the script on her machine fixed everything.
I apologize to all who attempted to help me with this for not double checking this sooner. Unfortunately I had no idea there were multiple Dropbox folders on that machine or that you even could have multiple Dropboxes on a machine.
Which is exactly what I suggested in my first reply on 4/12. :)
Sent from iCloud's ridiculous UI, so, sorry about the formatting
To get rid of the problem you may use these instructions :
set p2Home to path to home folder tell application "Finder" set trueDropbox to (first folder of p2Home whose name starts with "Dropbox") as text end tell
This way your script will work with “Dropbox (Comtech)”, "Dropbox (trucmuche)" as well as with "Dropbox".
