Why? It doesn't appear in the dictionary as a parameter to the save command, so the command isn't going to respond to it. You're trying to do the equivalent of making up your own dictionary.

Sorry, that just doesn't make sense. This has nothing to do with shell scripts.

You might have luck changing the extension of the .tiff file to .pdf before re-opening it.
