this is the old script with a new Subroutine that I am trying to get working again.

Hey Denny,

Are you scripting for yourself or someone else?

Unless you're distributing applets you don't really need the accessibility subroutine.

Give the Script Editor.app accessibility privileges, and you're good for working from it.

Consider buying a copy of FastScripts or use the free version and give it accessibility privileges.

You'll save yourself a lot of grief.

I recommend FastScripts for running shell scripts and AppleScripts.  In demo/free mode it allows unlimited scripts and 10 assignable keyboard shortcuts which is often enough for people with modest macro needs.  The full version costs $9.95 U.S. and unlocks unlimited app-specific and global keyboard shortcuts.

I also recommend Keyboard Maestro as the best-of-breed automation utility for the Mac.  It costs $36.00 U.S. and will do much more than run shell scripts and AppleScripts.

I've used both since 2003.
