Hi, Robert--
That's very helpful. Are some of the apparently intelligible strings (e.g., widthdatecolumnwidthDateColumn" or "size for month, day, year, time") actually part of your AppleScript program, or not?
How do you view the result? Does it appear in the Smile window right after you save, or does the Save create a file, then you open the file in order to see it? If the latter, how do you open the file: double-click or ⌘-O or pull down from File in an app? Which app shows you the file's contents?
