No, Jim, he couldn’t have said that; that’s not the way corporate PR works. If you plan to kill something and the cat’s out of the bag, then you offer the most general, banal contentless reassurance you can get away with so as to steady the ship. Something exactly along the lines of what he actually said in that email.

9To5 have made a 300 hundred word article out of a one sentence response which says nothing other than that automation is supported in the current release of macOS and will be until, surprise surprise, it’s not.
