G’day Phil
Sorry to leave your explicit name off the short list, but I want to keep the hidden files.
The reason is is that my project is only used by one Client, and it was stressed to me over 9 years ago that certain items of information should be stored in any way possible that rendered them invisible to any curious members of staff that happened to browse the unattended processing macs, that run 24/7, and that it should be very, very difficult to alter or delete the data. So, hidden files it was, and has been ever since. Only for certain items, such as a running total of received emails, and actual processed jobs etc. These numbers are considerable, and only available in emailed Reports to three members of staff. Emails are automatically removed after sending (and shared with myself)
Can you think of a better way.
Perhaps your advice was sound, but better offered once you’re aware of the reality of the situation.
Regards
Santa

Chances are some security analyst will come along one day, think your files are highly suspicious, and delete them. Then your app is broken.

You should be thinking of providing your clients with a solution that does more than just ‘work’, but that works safely and efficiently.
