Hi Jean,

Unrelated to applescript but doing the same thing. Assign a shortcut to the menu command 'Merge All Windows' in System Preferences/Keyboard/Shortcuts/App Shortcuts. The shortcut can be set for 'All Applications' or a specific application. Tested on macOS 10.12.4
