To be clear:
open up the terminal and type file and then a space, don’t hit return yet
then find your compiled AppleScript app, control-click it and “Show Package
Contents”
Open up Contents from there
Open up macOS from there
You should see a file called “droplet”
drag that file into the terminal window
hit enter
terminal should then tell you the info for that app
“droplet” is the binary executable. Other stuff in the package include icons,
plists, etc
