Very helpful.  Although I'm having trouble reading the comments, I can look up
the principal functions in the Cocoa documentation.

Very interesting idea.  Not quite what I'm looking for, but thanks for
introducing me to these.

Right now, I'm trying out these with Safari's "do JavaScript".


I was saddened, Yvan, to hear that Smile is deprecated.  I still use it as an
alternative to Script Editor now and then.  The XML additions were really
useful.  I had not yet learned, however, to think of Smile as a drawing tool.

Thank you all for some great ideas.  You have given me something to work with.
