Are you really using a RIGHT and a LEFT DOUBLE QUOTATION MARK which aren't
accepted by AppleScript?

I’m not sure about the list email, but anyway, those characters won’t let a
script compile in my version. I’ve since discovered that Axel’s assertion about
a full path to the ffmpeg executable appears to be the answer. I hope to be
able to reply to Axel’s response with the comprehensive solution shortly.
