That really has not happened with Monterrey.
The reports of the death of AppleScript's are greatly exaggerated.
AppleScript is as stable and robust as it ever was and I can't think of any
features or functionality that has gone away (without being replaced by
something better, like Libraries for OSAX). No changes in the (very minimal)
support either.
AppleScript and ASObjC work very well together, and there is a thriving
AppleScript support community, not just on this mailing list, but

As for Monterrey, I upgraded a few months ago and I have no regrets. There are
no appleScript issues that I was not able to easily resolve (often with help
from those forums above). As I recall there were two kinds of issues that had
to be dealt with:
No more third party Scripting Additions
Increased security requiring code signing/notarizing
For the Scripting Additions, between ASObjC and Script Libararies I have
regained all the function lost, and then some (with better performance).
For increased security, I use SD Notary from Late Night Software (I also use
their Script Debugger)

-->>SD Notary is a utility for having apps notarized by Apple. With macOS
10.13.6, Gatekeeper is requiring notarized apps where it previously accepted
simple code-signed apps.<<--
As to what to expect, most of the scripts that I've been running every day for
years worked without any alteration. The only ones that didn't work were
scripts that used third party OSAX.
I've also noticed AppleScript runs much faster now.
I've heard that there are several issues with AppleScript in Ventura, but my
hope is they will be resolved before I upgrade. (Some have already been
resolved, I take it).

So I finally was forced to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Monterrey on an M1
MacBook Pro. I know Apple has eviscerated AppleScript and, although not
admitting it, has effectively dropped support for it. Can someone summarize or
point me to a summary of the changes/bugs that I should expect to encounter
using AppleScript in Monterrey?
Thanks
