I actually can't even get this line of yours to compile in Applescript Editor or in ASObjC Explorer?
but I would say this is still nothing to do with 'paragraphs of' but more about trying to append to a list, which is what this line is seemingly trying to do?
OK.. Glad it worked :)
PS.. Not that it really matters, but you're displaying '()' when I think you mean to be displaying '{}' ?

No the solution was great and solved my issue. I'm just saying that
paragraphs of x to the beginning of theData
produces:
( ("aString","aString2"))
verses
("aString","aString2")

I'm not sure I know what you mean? If you want the paragraphs (return separated items) of a string as list items, 'paragraphs of' will work just fine...
You could also use text item delimiters, but paragraphs of works fine.
I'm not sure what these 'unwanted results' could be? Unless it's something to do with the data string?

Thank you very much!
Helpful tip for anyone reads this back from the archives:
Don't use "paragraphs of" with anything other than the list itself. For example do not do:
paragraphs of x to the beginning of theData
This produces probably unwanted results
