Scripters, my last say on this topic.

My rant was not intended to blame Shane for the lack of documentation about ASObjC, rather try and point out that it's Apples fault. If it wasn't for Shane answers, and his Explored and Explorer, I wouldn't be anywhere near finished my two apps. Rather, it was to take issue with Shane's method of teaching about ASObjC when helping others.

I really, really tried using Shanes guidance on the topics I raised, and which he duly answered to; and actually spent about 20 hours over the subsequent 3 days from his pointing out about 'rect' in his book, trying various things, but could not crack the correct terminology. I tried not to ask for help, and got on with other coding, but once finished that, had to get back to 'point', and had to ask again for assistance, to which Shane then pointed out he'd already answered my previous help request. It wasn't until Ron's posting of the correct code that I realised I'd made a fundamental mistake;  the code required two bindings, whereas I had it locked into my stubborn mind that it only needed one. Seeing the concrete code led me to the realisation that I'd made a big mistake. I sort of lost my cool over this, having largely wasted three days, trying to come to terms with Shane's suggestion about how I should learn to understand how to convert code first.

So, I posted a rant, more than unfairly to Shane, which I apologise to Shane for, but I do not apologise for pointing out that Apple should be largely blamed for lack of documentation.

And I apologise to the list for 'largely owning' it since early August (but where else to go to for help).

Santa
