Greetings Yan!
Aren't people funny? They would still rather be face to face with someone at a
meeting to ask for help even if it means waiting for weeks or months to get
help. It often sometimes happens that people are unwilling to ask or post to a
list, especially not wanting to look foolish in asking or saying the wrong
thing. At least a MUG you can quietly go up to one person and ask your
question...and no one knew any different. Need I say I don't belong to that
group of thought? :-)
Our MUG list is sometimes very quiet and at others calls for help are coming
out of the seams! Just continue to make everyone feel welcome and that will
bring in the postings even if only sporadically.
It's no different during our GURU sessions either, where all are asked to
share their problems to see who can help. MUG session leaders still get pulled
after the meetings to answer with troubleshooting tips because someone didn't
feel comfortable asking in a group forum.
Just continue to send little tidbits of information that you think will be
helpful. Most will view these and be appreciative enough to send back a note
when they need assistance. Some times its just a matter of time. At other
times, it does really depend on how comfortable people are at voicing their
thoughts to an open forum, but by showing the value of the medium, things will
change.
