Gail it may seem lively and entertaining when you are an observer however if
you were trying to sort out how to accomplish something constructive or
creative and are seeking help the experience is something else entirely.
Personally I wouldn't participate in an exchange off list if the tone of the
message was derogatory. I am not a child like illiterate that is prone to
put my foot in my mouth and referring to anyone else on this list in those
terms is inappropriate.
Particularly on this list which is an Apple list. I believe we should
interact professionally if we want the professional assistance of the Apple
Corporation.
Constructively, I would like to ask the list to list the benefits of being
an Apple recognized MUG? This seems to be the current issue that is at the
crux of what is being debated/fought over. What are the benefits? Could a
MUG survive without Apple? Is Apple aware of our declining memberships? If
Apple is aware of the challenges facing MUGs do they care? What else would
Apple be able to commit toward assisting MUGs in survival and to thrive?
Currently apple lists the following as it's services for MUGs

What does Apple do to support user groups?

We send resource DVDs to Apple Ambassadors.

We mail out marketing materials such as posters and t-shirts for local user

Do list members believe Apple does more? Does Apple fulfill this support
for all MUGs?

On the contrary Joe, I enjoy the lively debates going on here lately.

To stifle conversation is to limit creativity. Again, this is the
