On any given month the typical UG member looks over the upcoming program and
makes a decision whether to come or not (all other things being equal). Are
any of you concerning yourself with how to appeal to the OS X users while
not driving off those who don't use it and don't plan to, and vice versa?
Most of our members come for the social contact anyway - only a small
percentage will turn up (or not) because of the programme.
But apart from that I find that concentrating on a "topic" instead of
a program will do the trick. Don't talk (as a main course) about a
particular app. Example: "virus protection" instead of "Norton
Antivirus". Then you can present the latest app, but also mention
older ones or if you can't because it's the competition, the general
idea behind using it.
And of course: if you'll present new apps, more and more they'll be
either carbon and working on old versions as well as new or else
they'll be OS X only. So not much of a choice there.
