What I like most about the itools mail is that everyone who I sent

I am one of those people who pretty much only use the mac.com email
address portion of iTools. It is convenient, as it is a non-ISP
specific address, so if I changed ISPs I wouldn't have to notify
everyone as to my new address. I have all my mac.com email forwarded
to my ISP address, so I only use address, no server space. I also
have a mac.com email address for my MUG, which again, is forwarded to
my own email address.
I would like to see Apple keep the mac.com email service free with
limited server space for email storage (2 MB?, 5 MB?) and move all
the other services into the "Pro" category, similar to QuickTime, and
QuickTime Pro.
With the exchange rate between the Canadian and US dollar, .mac will
cost $150+ per year, Jaguar will be close to $195. and the upgrade to
QuickTime 6 Pro is $45.00 Canadian - all subject to 15% tax here in
Nova Scotia.
From the .mac faq:
http://www.mac.com/1/mac_faq.html
"Additional Mac.com Email accounts include 5MB of storage and cost
$10 per year. There is no additional storage available for email-only
accounts, and the photo signature feature is not available."
I will be purchasing a .mac account for myself, and probably get an
extra email account for the MUG, as our web site is hosted on the
local community net at no charge to us.

One other thing we have to remember, there are at least a dozen MUGs

For them it was easy to put up a notice "were here, come to meetings on

Tuesday, at Joe's house". No need to know HTML, no webmaster required.

Everyone knows where you are. They may not be able to budget for a $50 (2 new

members dues) yearly expense.
Rick - it's $50.00 only for the first year - $100.00 after that - and
that's 4 new members to offset the cost! (6 if you're a Canadian MUG
:-) )
I think it would be an EXTREMELY NICE gesture on Apple's part if they
would donate a .mac account to MUGs registered with them.
