This is the experience one of my group's members had with Apple's phone line
in response to the message posted here. Maybe the petition isn't such a bad
thing after all...

I just gave 'em a call at that number and the person to whom I spoke said
that to register a complaint in that regard I had to call Apple Customer
Relations at (800) 767-2775.

Further to my previous message to the effect that the above number told me
to call (800) 767-2775, the latter number was not too satisfactory.
When I mentioned that I had just purchased the 10.1.3 CD on May 25, the
woman I was speaking to said that she could understand my concern about
having to pay $129 again so soon, but that AN ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE FOR ME TO
STICK WITH 10.1.3 RATHER THAN UPDATING.
She wasn't impressed with my statement that that wasn't a valid argument,
since I could have saved even more money by sticking with OS 8.5.
She took my name, etc., allegedly wrote down my complaint, and told me that
it would be passed on.
