This is only sound and reasonable to many of us. The unfortunate fact
was that
the plan as developed and announced by Apple can be construed as not a reasonable
option for the majority. While Apple may have thought of that fact
(that many
would not be happy), it still not a palatable one for the large
proportion of
iTools users.
In similar fashion for example, if a MUG who charged a very limited dues structure
of $10-20 dollars a year for club benefits (newsletter, list serve, no charge
refreshments at meetings, etc.) all of a sudden required its members to
sign up
for the new year at 90-120% more than it had continually stated as a
benefit to
joining the club, the membership would be in an uproar! That is simply
what has
happened.
If on the other hand, over a time period of several months discussions
had been
publicly held at the problems that they were facing with possible
solutions and a
delineated outcome of having to raise that dues structure, you would've gained
support with trust and respect that the chosen outcome was the only recourse
available.
We don't have any concept of what Apple has (if any) planned as a
response, but it
would be nice to see a more reasonable structure of methodology for
iTools (free,
upgraded, pro version) offered. For the near future, I don't see it
happening in
my opinion. While waiting I'm certainly looking for other options to
continue to be
able to provide reasonable options for the organizations I am a part of.
Any other options/ideas would certainly be welcomed.
