Top of the news note: AACUG Goes to Washington
Fred is in Washington this week, attending the Federal Trade
Commission's Anti-Spam Conference and forum. He and AACUG's
Bob Platt will be standing up for Mac users -- all computer users!
Wish him fair sailing.
The conference lasts through Friday, and hopefully Fred
will be posting some information from that historic event
to the InfoManager list.
As you know, Fred is heading the AACUG's Anti-Spam advocacy,
and "Safe Net" educational program for user groups, civic
organizations and schools. He and his brother, Joe Showker, have
made some advancements in these areas: their local school system
under direction of Joe, has been selected as the first U.S.
beta school system to test the new cyber crime program
"MISSING."
They are proposing that the U.S. roll-out of the program
incorporate the Mac user group community as an 'incubation'
market for the program. As soon as those tests are complete at
the end of the school year, we're hoping there will be lots
more information for User Groups.

* Talking Moose is BACK !
Those of us who have been around the Mac for awhile
remember with great fondness the freeware and later
commercial product the "Talking Moose". Well, he has
returned for Mac OS X.
The Moose has been a part of Macintosh history since 1986, and no
Mac can truly be called complete without the Talking Moose.

In the AACUG's MUG Department:
Shareware: Fun with Crystals
This week we look at a fun little program
CrystalDiffract LE. Although this is a limited edition
version of CrystalDiffract the popular powder diffraction
program from Chrystalmaker, it's still a lot of fun, and
creates some dazzling graphics.
