Hi Lesa,
Originally, JoMacs just used a TV connected to laptop which left anyone
past the front row squinting at the screen. In stepping up from that,
we borrowed one for awhile, while we were raising money to get our own.
Our Christmas present to ourselves last year was a used projector off
of eBay. We had it wrapped & let those who had donated $$ to help get
it unwrap it, then we used it for our Christmas program.
At this point, the board has opted not to rent it out b/c of the risk
of damage & having to replace it (a major purchase for us). Even a new
bulb will be a stretch for us to get.
For internet, we're fortunate enough to meet at the local highschool
which is wired. The only hassle we have is keeping up with the firewall
ports installed - especially when the IT department changes them & we
don't know. Luckily, the head of the IT dept is a great guy who's given
me his home number in case we run into any problems.
We don't tell folks we have or don't have broadband, projector, etc. We
just try to put on a good meeting & hope they'll enjoy for that. In
fact, there's been a couple of times that we've had a program put
together that has depended on the internet, and for a technical glitch,
we haven't had anything!
Cheers!

Greetings from Texas!
I'm curious, do most groups own a projector and laptop for use in
meeting presentations? If so, do you know any who rent out their
projector to offset the cost?
Regarding Internet access at meetings, do most groups have broadband
available for presentation use? I wonder what effect, if any, this has
on potential visitors when they are choosing a group to visit?
What do y'all think?
