At AMUG, we were fortunate enough to be able to buy a video projector years
ago. But that project can hardly keep up with simple graphics these days at
any decent resolution. It's currently being used by one of our SIGs.

Luckily, the facility that we rent for our main and two SIG meetings
supplies a modern projector and high speed internet. Granted, there are the
corporate firewall hoops to jump through.

Would we consider renting the projector? No, or at least not without a large
deposit. The bulbs are very expensive and it's just too much of a risk to
have the projector jostled around.

Perhaps one or two of the corporate presenters that we've had over the past
couple of years have asked for internet connection. Most simply bring a
canned demo.

We have considered buying a presentation laptop, but each time it's been
evaluated as an unnecessary cost since presenters either bring their own
machines or use one provided by one of the members.
