The Black Screen problem is more due to a problem with cables routing
through the screen hinge. We've had a few replaced and Apple are pretty
prompt about it.
Apple has removed the discussion board topic about it from their
support site and quite a few are upset about it.
It was uncivil behaviour that caused the topic to be removed...
There was a fix posted to the forums, but Apple removed it.
...as well as fixes that could potentially void a warranty.
Apple discussions are Apple's property. Much like this mailing list.
