iFOCUS, JOMAC'S, CASADY & GREENE, VENDOR DEALS & MP3 AVAILABILITY ON THE
USER GROUP REPORT
The first edition for 2003 features a slate of interesting guests,
information on how to get your group's events listed on The MUG Center
and, for the first time, the User Group Report available as an MP3 file
to listen on your iPod or at your convenience.
Nico Jubber of the Tufts Macintosh Users Group profiles her group, the
first iFocus contest for Boston area campus user groups, and User Group
University from a student perspective.
Chris Kiltz of the Josephine County Mac User Group talks about how her
group went from being "in the middle of nowhere" to exhibiting in the
User Group Booth at Macworld Expo
Bonnie Mitchell of Casady & Greene discusses the C&G User Group Program,
why they elected to give SpellCatcher X to user groups before anyone
else, and why Apple took away Bonnie's toys.
Lorene Romero, the User Group Advisory Board's Vendor Liaison updates us
on the latest and greatest vendor deals exclusively for Macintosh User
Groups.

DAVE MARRA'S 2003 MUG TOUR KICKS OFF IN PHILADELPHIA
Apple Systems Engineer and MUG presentation legend Dave Marra kicked off
his 2003 MUG Tour this past week. Dave will be criss-crossing the
Northeast United States, appearing at a MUG near you. But don't just look
for Macintosh User Groups on the list - Dave is also taking his dynamic,
informative presentations to PC user groups to inform, to educate, and
maybe even to switch! If you've seen Dave in action before, you won't
miss his next presentation in your area. If you haven't, this is your
opportunity.

TUFTS UNIVERSITY MACINTOSH USERS GROUP "iFOCUS" EVENT UNDERWAY
The Tufts Macintosh Users Group, in partnership with other campus MUGs in
the Boston area, is conducting "iFocus," a digital photography event/
contest. Participants will produce a slideshow focusing on a designated
subject using iPhoto 2. Sponsored by Apple, O'Reilly, Adobe and The
Digital Camera company, the event will run for 2 days, and feature prizes
and an awards ceremony to be held on February 17. Complete information,
including the just-revealed subject for slideshows, is available on the
iFocus web site.
GOLD COAST MAC HELPS (FLORIDA) WEST COAST MUGS
In a terrific example of MUGs helping MUGs , officers from Gold Coast Mac
traveled across Florida to meet with members and leaders of various MUGs
on the state's west coast. The purpose of the trip was to share some of
their secrets and techniques for building, maintaining and publicizing
user groups. Gold Coast Mac participants included Rose Lynn, Esver
Camacho, Dave Game, Richard Lynn and Jim Bollinger. All the details are
