Hello Sarah. We're your neighbors in the Syracuse area.
Does anyone have any
advice or contacts that they could give me.
The first two things to pop into my head since you are in Rochester:
Ambrosia Software
http://www.ambrosiasw.com/ has long been producing
many high quality games and utilities for Macs in your own fair city
and selling them at low shareware prices. We've had Andrew Welch speak
to us in the past, although not recently. Maybe you could talk them
into paying you a visit.
Kodak is also right in your back yard. I don't know who you could talk
with, but check around there. Perhaps they have someone who'd be
willing to chat about current trends in digital photography, either
still or video, and related software technology. It wouldn't even
necessarily have to be Mac-specific.
Also, find out who RIT's Apple Rep is. Someone in the school's IT
department can probably tell you. Invite him or her to come chat about
what's new, maybe a quick presentation, etc.
Good luck.
