Hi, I am getting a lot of questions about keynote.
Has anyone actually used it?
How does it compare to PP?
Advantages Disadvantages.
We have a LOT of PP users that want to switch, but want to make sure
that Keynote is at least 99% compatible.
Hi John,
I used Keynote this afternoon to prepare a presentation for our mug
tonight. Normally we don't do "formal" presentations but I and another
guy (we'll call him Mikey) used Keynote just to try it out because it
looked like fun. It was a simple thing with 11 slides. I
incorporated a quicktime movie, a pdf screenshot and a jpeg to see how
those elements worked. Even though it was simple I was impressed how
quickly I made a sharp looking presentation. 15-20 minutes. I spent
no time thinking about anything but content. I didn't read the manual.
There were no glitches at all. Again, simplistic but even so you
rarely find flawless, and that's what my Keynote experience was. I
exported it to quicktime and sent it to a couple members to review
before the meeting. No problems. Mikey made similar observations.
I'd never used PP but Mikey had and said he liked the fact Keynote had
fewer options. And he said something about it handling pdf better than
PP. I would think Keynote's big advantage is its Macness.
I ran down to the Apple store and got a keyspan remote. It was fun.
Now I all I want to do is make presentations. And just one more
thing... The audience was impressed also.
