Mmmm, tasty questions Rick!
Cowtown MUG uses two main methods of attracting members: search engine
optimization (through reciprocal links & meta data) and visitor
interactivity (through a home page voting poll and classified ad
section).
By the way, I just bought O'Reilly's book "Google Hacks" at Macworld NY
this week so I'm anxious to glean new Google wisdom (I wonder if that
sounds strange?)
How about you all? Any other tricks? (Hmmm, hoping she won't have to
read the book after all!)
Yes, we definitely research our site statistics to see what people are
reading and what they're not. Heck, I think doing post-launch research
is more fun than building the site itself.

Over the years our User Group has experimented with different ideas on

an iCal link for meetings, and forums for discussions. I was
wondering what
else other user groups are doing on their sites to attract members.
Also
does the group leadership track statistics on the site to see how well
it is
being used?
