I'm the Special Events Co-ordinator of AUSOM Incorporated,
Australia's Leading Apple Macintosh User Group
(
http://www.ausom.net.au)
My questions for the list are:
1. How many of you are producing PDF9s of your newsletter?
We do, but more for archive purposes and they can be found at
http://www.ausom.net.au/magazine.html
Our members generally prefer a physical paper copy
2. Do you still mail hard copies of the newsletter for exchange (Quantity?)
No more than half-a-dozen
3. How many user groups prefer to continue receive paper mailings for
exchange vs PDF only.
I prefer to read paper versions, but accept PDF versions as they are
easier to re-distribute. Currently our Editor gets first call on all
"exchange" mags we receive and unless I drop into the Office during
the month, I don't always see them.
PDF versions also make it easy to prepare reprints (after obtaining
permission) of relevant articles/
4. If PDF version for exchange is ok, how is it delivered (link to download
or e-mail of actual PDF)
Just posted to the website.
5. What are acceptable ways to wean and trim the exchange list to the PDF
method?
Just announce that is what you are doing and why (cutting costs,
speeding up delivery, improving distribution)
