Last fall someone sent me an article about how a group was involved in
community service and that they'd made the local newspaper.

Many Mac User Groups describe themselves as a community group. But how many
groups serve beyond their members and get involved in outside community
events or assistance? This can be helping a school get its older Macs
working or the group volunteering at some sort of event (Mac related or
not). I would think this is good PR and can introduce new members to your
group as well. It would be interesting to see what we are all doing beyond
User Group meetings.
