Hi
I have had a query from a person who lives in a very remote community
of only 4000 inhabitants and is in the process of trying to get a
user group underway.
"Wondered if you could provide a run down of the benefits to users of
forming a regularly meeting group. In trying to organise a group here
I'm faced with a certain amount of inertia/apathy/call it what you
will. There's a bit of the which came first syndrome - the chicken
or the egg as far as people being able to see what benefit they might
derive from such a group. Do I continue putting effort into getting
it off the ground so that they can see the benefit or give it away
is the question I face. I certainly see the benefit of availing
myself of the opportunity for hands on instruction to gain knowledge."
I was going to reply to him giving my thoughts
on the matter when I thought that this must be a worldwide type of
problem so I wondered what others may think on the subject.
cheers
