I would most certainly like to see:

The menu bar open for development of third-party menu extras again. I think it's absolutely brilliant what some developers have come up with. Let them show their stuff, don't be a control freak, Apple.

Complete integration of X11 into the rest of the Mac OS. I know it seems impossible, but if GTK+ code could be used in Quartz for total interoperability with X11 binaries, I think that would be awesome.

Some better integration with scanners! My USB UMAX Astra 2200 is almost a paperweight now, since it only scans under Classic and I hardly use Classic anymore.

Let's see some good Office support in Appleworks. I'd even buy it then.
