Hello all,

I am just wondering...

How do MUG members feel about Create - the alternative to the "normal"
Macworld Expo?

How do you think it will be different and are these differences important to
you?

Will the changes affect your decision to attend?

as of today Create doenst have any interest for me as trade show.
Im from Barcelona, Spain, and going to NYC is a major expense really off my budget... but
MacWorld Expo was a great excuse to combine three opportunities, 1st is going to UGU, 2nd is visitin NYC and the 3rd and most importent because is the reason that in someway pay the expenses, going to MacWorld expo and covering as journalist. Yes my othe hat is working as journalist for an spanish Macintosh Magazine, no, no that magazine, just the other :)

so for me and at this moment the change is a big no-no to going to NYC and spent almost a week between the trip and the show. the MacWorld Expos have a real worldwide atraction, Create is just new and maybe not exclusively mac biased. there is really little info about the new event and the expected number of booths are really small to be atractive from my point of view

sure, newyorkers and people living nearby may enjoy the show and the other activities around. but from people living in other countries these changes, the WWDC change too, are great PITA because we have to plan it at least three or six months in advance to have reasonable travel and hotel expenses and to plan the work load and holidays

Apple and IDG have their own reasons to reeschedule and canceling events, but these changes perceived as arbitraries and poor planned, have a negative effect in the companies public perception. IDG may have changed the event name as early as february, and Apple may have reescheduled WWDC in january too.
