- Gary Adcock of the Chicago Final Cut Pro Users Group outlines his
credentials as the new Regional Liaison Team member dedicated to Final
Cut Pro User Groups and talks about his own group and their presence at
the MacDesign Conference in their home town.
- Ty Beckman of Western Illinois University Macintosh Users Group

COMING TO THE NEWSLETTER CONTENT EMAIL LIST: "MAC 911" BY CHRIS BREEN
Macintosh User Group newsletter editors will soon have a terrific new
resource for their publications, courtesy of Macworld magazine. Beginning
next month, Chris Breen, author of "Secrets of the iPod" and "Mac 911"
will be providing select portions of Macworld's "Mac 911" column for use
in MUG newsletters --exclusively through The MUG Center's Newsletter
Content E-mail List.
Chris' tips, tricks and answers to difficult questions are well known to
Mac users of all experience levels. Now, for the first time, the fruits
of Chris' labor can be legitimately shared in MUG newsletters. Just be
sure to include the attribution paragraph, which will be included with
each "Mac 911" installment, and your MUG members can enjoy some of the
best, most useful, and most fun Mac information available.

MORE USER GROUP ACTIVITY AT MACDESIGN CONFERENCE
Last week we told you about the Birds Of A Feather session, "Why User
Groups Are A Great Resource," at the MacDesign Conference in Chicago. The
hostesses of that session, Apple User Group Advisory Board members Lesa
Snider and Lorene Romero have announced they will host a "dutch treat"
informal get-together immediately after the session. For information on
time, date and location, and to get on the list, email Lesa Snider.
There will also be a user group presence on the show floor. The Chicago
Final Cut Pro Macintosh Users Group will have a booth to showcase both
the user group community in general and the Final Cut Pro User Group
segment in particular. Be sure to stop by and find out what user groups
can do for you.

USER GROUP LEADER SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT APPLESCRIPT
Ben Waldie, President of the Philadelphia Area AppleScript Users Group ,
is in the middle of a series of appearances at Macintosh User Groups in
the Northeast United States to inform, educate and evangelize
AppleScript. Ben's presentation includes an introduction to AppleScript,
examples of where and how it is used in the print and media industries,
how to get started, and much more. Ben also gives the members of each
group visited a special User Group Pack of sample scripts and products he
has developed and released as shareware. Ben has already presented to The
Macintosh Business User's Society of Greater Philadelphia, Macintosh
Users of Delaware, The Macintosh Association of Central New Jersey and
The Hershey Apple Core. Future schedule appearances include:

- Princeton Macintosh Users Group - August 12
- New Jersey Macintosh Users Group - August 19
