Does your group do something special for the holidays? Any ideas you

share with the last-minute procrastinators among us?
I hope you've already made your holiday event plans, but in case you
haven't, some ideas
LIMac has celebrated the holidays/end-of-the-year with a simple social
"bring-your-own" party dish/dessert to share. We provide soft drinks,
coffee and tea; party plates and "silverware"; and a large sheet cake
decorated with some Mac design, of course. This year, as we celebrate
our 20th anniversary, the cake will reflect that in a Macintosh way too.
Since it is our anniversary, we have planned to have a number of
"exhibits" folks can browse during the "social" part of the meeting.
The exhibits will include LIMac historical and Mac memorabilia and
possibly a few legacy Macs running some of the original Mac software.
I'm planning to bring premier issues of Macworld, MacUser, MACazine and
early issues of MacTimes, St.Mac and Semaphore Signal magazines; my
original, "Guided Tour of Macintosh", "MacWriteMacPaint", and
"MacDraw" tapes and a cassette player; and original 400k ss floppy
disks. Sad to say, I don't still have my original 128k Mac! :-(
Before we dive into the food, we'll have an abbreviated Q&A (a
most-popular part of any LIMac meeting). We're also going to have a
demonstration of some games by Freeverse Software as sort of a "gift
idea" part of the evening followed by our usual fundraiser "raffle."
Most of the evening though will be spent schmoozing with other Mac
users and just having a good time.
