Isn't this a breach of NDA - and a morals?
I wasn't aware that customers who purchased Panther from Apple, who
shipped it to them, having it arrive in their hands prior to 8pm on
Friday night were under NDA from sharing with the world that it had
arrived. Perhaps it was printed on the outside of his box, "Do not open
until Christmas!^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Night of the Panther." If they
indeed did that, then they're asking for trouble.
For one thing, I don't understand how you got this box. According to
all I
know, it's not being sent to anyone until the evening of the 24th. And
if
you have it by some questionable means, it's not ok to be bragging
about it.
Perhaps asking, rather than vilifying him for posting his pictures
might have put your NDA'd mind at ease.
I'm on the beta as an author and cannot speak about unadvertised
features
until the release date and time in our own time zone. It's also
standard for
a beta to not speak about the details of the beta.
But that's *your* deal, it might be his.
I find it curious and
rather disturbing that you have this product, that you're showing it
off,
that you're making it news, and that you're a UG leader.
Good thing you're not in his MUG, else he'd have a mutiny on his hands.
(If you somehow got
the product but kept it under your hat, I'd not be bothered.) Benjamin,
according to your own group's website, you're under the same release
that we
are: 8pm Friday Oct 24th.
Above, you thank Apple, but your actions are not respectful of Apple. I
don't see that as being a good Mac user, nor a good Mac leader.
What am I not understanding here?
Sounds like sour grapes. You paid money to test the OS, provide your
feedback, and Apple didn't have the "moral" decency to provide you with
a box ahead of the release date. Oh wait, as a developer you can go
download it, but you can't "celebrate in the end zone" like Benjamin
did. Also, I think disclosing that you participated in the beta program
violates your NDA. But I won't let that get my panties in a twist.
BTW, I checked Benjamin's pics, and he's since removed them at Apple's
request. That sounds to me like he's being respectful of Apple, a good
Mac user and a good Mac leader.
Wish I'd gotten mine early, just so I could wave it in the air and
spike it in the end zone.
