I suspect our club is like many others - we define a "UG Member" as
someone who has paid their current membership dues. Those happen to be
$40.00 Canadian per year.
We keep track of our UG Members in a database as well as an email
distribution list. We also have a much larger email distribution list
which is comprised of folks who are not paid up members of the club but
who at one point or another have expressed interest in perhaps becoming
a member so we keep them posted on meeting dates and other news. When
we send out email messages to both lists, we say, "To All Members &
Friends of MaUsE:".
We do have a VERY small number of club members who are called Life
Members. These are people in respect to whom the Board of Directors has
at some point voted that their memberships should be considered valid
for all time without them actually having to pay any further dues. This
is usually in recognition of many years of service to the club in the
past and present, but not necessarily the future. We have actually lost
track of one of our Life Members!! Life Members are considered a subset
of "UG Members".
Hope this helps.

I
am just curious to find out how other groups are defining a "UG
