I have an old indigo iMac, the last CRT iMac before they were cancelled, and a new 17" iMac, that was purchused 6 monthes ago, and both of them seem to have hesame problem with Stuffit files.
When i got the Apple Sales Resoures DVD a couple monthes ago, i wanted to download some files on Keynote, a sales presentation to be exact, which was compressed as a Stuffit file with the words TEXT in the icon. So i put the DVD in my flat screen iMac.
I find the file, in Safari, on the Apple Sales Web site, and download to my HD. Stuffit Opens like it's suposed to, tells me to pick a place to store my file, then suddenly quits.
This has happened before on my CRT iMac also. Stuffit will open any other type of file, except that type.
