Our group charges it's members $24 a year. If a person joins mid year we
charge them $2 for each month to the end of the year. We have a family membership.
If a husband and wife, for example, join, the family is charged $24. We also
have a Snow Bird rate. Occasionally a Mac User from the North spends 4 or 5
months in the warm South Carolina winter. They go back to NY or MI or where ever
in the spring. We ask them for $2 a month for the number of months they will
be with us. At our November business meeting, depending on the state of the
treasury, we may charge the present members $12 for the following years. For all
others it is $24.
Fortunately, we do not have to rent a space for meetings or print a monthly
newsletter or do other mailings so our expenses are minimal. "itsamac.com"
provides our web space and we pay for the domain name.

Some give students a discount in order to increase youth members. Some have
gone dues-free to compete with internet groups. So, I wonder if people think
dues makes a difference? Does your group have folk that avoid paying the few
$ a
year? Give students a break? >>
