Hello Group!
I hope you are having a relaxing summer. You must be because
everything is
so quiet.
As for me, I stay in the car a lot, running hither and yon, delivering
children to one place or the other. Just now I heard a song on the
radio. It
goes, "If I could grant...you one wish..." I thought of you (but
not about
kissing!).
So, if I could grant you -- both leaders and members -- just one
wish for
your AUG/MUG, what would it be?
Hey Trish--and all the list members
It was good to see your post and it has given me some food for
thought. After two years serving and the Washington Apple Pi
President, and after taking off for my mandatory one year (under the
Pi by-laws, board members serve for a three year term, then must
leave the board for one year before they can run for re-election), I
am back on the board and serving as Vice President for Programs.
As with any user group, we are always looking for ways to find new
members, get members more involved, stretch the money farther etc.
I think my one wish would be that every member return the value
provided in being a member of a user group back to the group is some
way. If fellow members have helped solve technical issues--and you
are not the techie, return the value to the group by helping with
membership or fellowship. If you have learned how to use a digital
camera, take a few photos for the newsletter or for the photo board
at the meeting. If you have learned how to use your Mac, find some
way to support the tutorial efforts.
We all have more fun and will enjoy our clubs more if everyone does a
little something!
Hope you have a great summer and enjoy those kids! Too soon they are
grown and gone!
Pat Fauquet
