The Michigan Apple uses our Dot Mac account in a similar fashion “sort of”.
Our membership chairman complies the new members, renewals, and drops on or around the first of the Month and generates a blurb for our Newsletter in Appleworks and uploads it to our iDisk. He also gives me (and any other Board Member who cares to get it) a CURRENT membership list via iDisk so I can generate Mailing labels for the newsletter.
We also have a more complete membership list which includes any Past (and Current) members since the mid to late 80’s that he and our current President share.
Our current V.P. Handles the e-mail Announce List for the members and I am not sure how he updates or add/delete. I think he coordinates with our Community Relations director who handles check in/guests and updates the info accordingly.

It would be nice to move him up to a machine running at least OS 10.1+ (Beige G3), does the group (or any members) have the finances (member upgrade donation) to supply him with one (Xmas present for his Hard workin the Past and future??)? I know sources to get older G3 Macs or iMacs fairly cheap here in the US but shipping is a killer.
Or is he just reluctant to step into the Future with OS X?
We beat up many members during the 10.2 phase to get them to make the jump by telling them that Apple killed OS 9 and within x amount of months so would we. We would still answer the questions to the best of our ability, but they should seriously consider upgrading if at all possible.
How is the used Mac market in Canada?

PS. Using a floppy still must be a MAJOR pain... At least buy the guy a USB card and a cheap flash/key drive if he is running 8.6 or above.
