So, what were you waiting for?
;-)
Okay, how's this for starters:
1) Allen, I like the fact that you said UGs instead of AUGs. Here in
Syracuse over the past nearly two years we have developed a very
close working relationship with our PC and Linux counterparts
including leadership meetings, joint events and even a joint
membership offering. The PC group experiences the same issues we do.
(The Linux group is at a younger stage, much like the hobbyist groups
that Mac and PC groups used to be. They don't seem to have quite the
same issues. They're a lot of fun and round things out nicely,
though, so we like to include them in it all too.) As such,
2) Our three CNY UGs are in the _very_ early stages of planning a
small regional gathering of leaders of nearby UGs to discuss face to
face exactly the issues described by Allen, plus any others that may
come up. If any UGs from our region are interested in attending,
possibly in late September, please e-mail me off-list.
3) Have any other UGs tried something like this? What discussion or
actions grew out of it?
