Jim, AWUG and iWUG uses AppleWorks to maintain an electronic index of its articles. The database has 14 fields, four of which (with asterisks below) are unique to AWUG's needs. The fields are:
Volume #
Issue #
Date
Starting page #
Article #*
# of pages
Handbook Volume*
Handbook Page*
Type
Platform*
Title
Author(s)
Keywords
Notes
We enter our records manually for each issue.
If you'd like a copy of the database, just let me know - you're welcome to delete the records and use the layouts as a template for your own group.
Our webmaster turned the database into an interactive system on our website - go to <www.awug.org> and click on "AppleWorks Journal Index" - but how he did his magic is beyond me!

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how one might be able
to develop an Index for all this material, preferably something that
would be accessible online. The idea would be that someone could key
in a search term and get back a listing of all the articles that
contain that search term and the month and year of the issue in which
that article appears.
