A few questions for MUG leaders...
How much do various groups charge for their annual membership?
$30 US
And what services do members get for that fee?
This is a perspective I have long fought against in my group. THE
PRIMARY THING a person gets for paying annual dues to our group is
the knowledge that they have helped defray the basic expenses
associated with providing space (physical, online, in print, it's all
the same really.) for our members to get together and interact and
help each other in all things Macintosh.
If you present the image that members are "buying" a service, then
you will be treated as a service provider who owes them something for
their money instead of as someone who happens to enjoy volunteering
for a cause you believe in. It makes getting others to volunteer that
much harder IMHO.
