I keep forgetting... I do a couple other lists where a reply always
goes to the list. I replied to Laura's question, but it never got
here. I guess I won't resend it.
If you don't want or need dotmac services, but just need web hosting,
www.itsamac.com has all Mac servers, and offers their best package
free to recognized Apple User Groups. It is a good deal! But it
isn't the same as a .Mac account.

One more attempt to answer your question. I keep getting 'bounce'
messages from the list because I must not be using the correct
"From:" address. [headbash]

I am told that it is possible create and maintain a page on the .mac

There are at least two ways to get a .Mac account:
1. Buy one for $99 per year.
2. Get a free one by taking enough ATSO courses, although it may be
too late in the year for that now. And you'll need to take courses
every year to maintain the Free site. Plus, there are some
restrictions in the use of that site.
Another alternative is using a hosting service. They run anywhere
from less than $50 a year to several hundred. They usually also
provide multiple email accounts ( sometimes hundreds! ) as well as
more space than you'll likely ever need. Of course, you won't have
that nifty ".mac" domain... ;-)
Just Google for hosting services and you can even look for real Mac
support ones ( although the net is pretty non-platform specific ).
Some even provide MUG members a reduced price account if you let
them host your Group site!
Might be a good SIG area to start...

Aren't they just stale bread to begin with?
